Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Thursday accused the neighbouring country of abetting terror in J&K and stated that people of Jammu will never allow terrorism flourish in the region and people across the region will unitedly defeat the menace.

“The neighbouring country continues to promote terrorism in J&K and their fresh target is Jammu. But Jammu people have never supported terrorism and this time also, they will defeat this menace by standing united with the security forces,” the LG said while addressing the Independence Day function at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.

He said that J&K administration is also committed to uproot the terrorism from J&K soil. “Our security forces will not allow its revival in J&K,” he said.

The LG said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendear Modi, due representation was given to SC, ST, OBC and West Pakistan refugees besides PoJK and migrant Kashmiri Pandits. He said that J&K administration is committed take J&K touch new heights in development.

 “We ensured justice for those who were deprived of the same for the past 70 years,” the LG said, adding that in the past five years, all the government jobs were given away on the basis of full transparency. “We also ensured that there is no hurdle between government and the people.”

The LG said by the year end, J&K’s new industrial policy is ending and the administration has requested the Government to renew it with more industry friendly features.

He said by the year end, Kashmir will be connected with the Kanyakumari through rail link.  As far the E-governance, he said almost 70 percent of the services have been put in e-mode.

“3200 MWs of  power is in the offing in next few years,” he said, adding that “in last two years, no increase was made in the power tarrif.

J&K continues to get cheapest power. Domestic consumers can avail amnesty scheme which is valid till March 2025.
